[OSM-newbies] gaps in map after editing

I worked on the streets in SE London yesterday (adding names,
tweaking errors) and now the area seems to be blank! It's not just
purely blank, the areas (residential etc) are there, but the streets
themselves are missing:

What has caused this?  JOSM still shows the ways and data are there and fine...
