[OSM-newbies] Name in two languages

They use the Chinese name in the simple "name" tag (ie: the default name).
If your area's "normal" language is Hindi, then you use the Hindi name
in that tag and add the English name in name:en.
so:
  name:en=English
  name:hi=हिंदी
  name=हिंदी

So then it's the English people who need the special map!

You only have a problem where you have more than one language commonly
used in the same area, and both sets of people want their language
shown.

There may be a problem with some of the map renderings and Indic
scripts though. It took quite a lot of effort from the developers to
get chinese characters and arabic characters to show up correctly on
the Mapnik map.
