[OSM-newbies] Tags for small open areas in towns

Being very new to this, I was wondering what to use for small open areas in
town.  

Happily use leisure=park for large formally designated areas and
leisure=playground when appropriate.

 

I am thinking of the areas of grass about 40m x 40m mostly of interest to
dog walkers.

A thought for this is to use the proposed landuse=grass.

 

The other areas are about the same size but with 2 or 3 flower beds and a
park bench.

Would leisure=garden be appropriate (or is that for formal gardens)?
