Yes, it takes up to houres / days until the data show up in the
Osmarender-Maps or a week until the Mapnik-Renderer takes his snapshot
of the data.

But we are talking about the raw data.
If added a new node / way to the OSM-Database, just go back into the
normal view-tab. Obviously the feature you just entered doesn't show
up in the map. Now klick on the blue "+"-Sign on the upper right
corner and enable the "Data"-Layer. You might zoom in beacause the
number of data in your current area might be to much. You shoul see
your data even they are not rendered yet.
