[OSM-newbies] Openstreetmap.org seems to have just had a nap...

Since the move to API0.6 a week ago there have been ongoing teething issues
which make the platform periodically either slow, timing out or resulting in
internal server error responses. Obviously the sysadmins try to catch these
and fix them as they happen but in some case, since our fine folk are all
volunteers, it can be a few hours before a fix is sorted and the platform
works normally again. I think this is likely to be the case for the next few
weeks. It's not always clear there is a problem that affects everyone and
hence sometimes the status page may not reflect exactly what users are
experiencing. Treat the status line as a general guide on the platform
status but that in the next few weeks it might not be totally reliable all
the time.
Cheers
Andy
