[OSM-newbies] why does one item render in mapnik and another not?

The data browser will fill closed areas with orange. Both of the areas
not rendering in mapnik do not have the orange fill, whereas the ones
that do render have the fill.
I think osmarender closes open ways by itself to hide this issue.

In both cases there are two nodes that are close to each other, but
not fully joined together, I've now fixed the errors and should be
visible at the next mapnik data import.
