[OSM-newbies] Imagery Updates, Routable Maps, Potlatch Qs

Hello there,
Have recently joined the OSM movement and have been very actively (almost
addicted) contributing to mapping my city - Ahmedabad in India.
Would appreciate some assistance with the following:
1) The Yahoo! imagery in use is from 2006 - in a fast developing nation like
India - the roads and infrastructure is fast changing. Is OSM looking into
deploying updated imagery any time soon?
2) In the Potlatch 1.0 editor - there does not seem to be a way to specify a
road/street as being bi-directional (traffic flowing in both directions) -
most streets in India and quite a few other developing nations would be like
that. So how can this be addressed? - such that when routable maps are
created from OSM - the GPS device can use the street in either direction.
3) Being a new contributor - I am still not 100% sure about the accuracy of
what I am doing. Would be ideal if there were some way to readily generate
- for a selected area - routable maps for my Garmin device. This way I can
test out my contributions and make necessary changes right away. I have
used CloudMade.com and NA1400.info - but in both sites (since they address
the entire planet) the update frequency runs into a few weeks. Is there a
software / website available where I can specify the 4 coordinates and out
comes a routable Garmin map?
4) Alternatively, is there a process to take a CloudMade map for Garmin and
make it routable (once I have downloaded the same)?
5) I am new to Wiki as well... how do I get my name listed as one of the
contributors for Ahmedabad city in India?
Look forward to hearing from you soon,
Regards
Chirag
