[OSM-newbies] Filling in an area

Greetings all,
 
I have a football field I'm trying to map.
 
The perimeter is defined by a stream, a hedge boundary and a road. My 
efforts so far have made all ways streams, or hedges or roads - something wrong 
there!
 
Other than separately drawing around the inside of this enclosed shape and 
naming that a field, what's the proper way of doing it please?
