[OSM-newbies] Slippymap plug in causes JOSM out of memory errors

I'm using JOSM 1515, Windows XP Pro, Xmx1280M.  Without slippymap I can load
areas 20 miles square or more.  With slippymap, I get an out of memory error
at a square mile or less.  Any advice would be appreciated.
