[OSM-newbies] How to create object?

What editor are you using?  It sounds like you're using JOSM.  If  
you're having trouble authenticating, try logging into  
openstreetmap.org.  If you can, great, you've got the right username  
and password.  Go into JOSM's Edit/Preferences dialog.  Cilck on the  
"world" icon (second from the top in the vertical icon bar).  You will  
see a dialog for your "OSM username (email)" and "OSM password".  Put  
in the same username and password that you used to log into  
openstreetmap.org.  As you type the password, you should see round  
balls in place of the keys you're typing.

When you're reporting trouble, remember these three things:
   o Tell us what you did.
   o Tell us what you saw.
   o Tell us what you expected to see.
