You mean that mapnik renders them different than the layer=* would 
indicate? If so, then again: render error, so please don't adapt your 
data to attempt to work around this.

Normally I think I would take the official zoning regs, but if in 
practice it's a runaway mish-mash, I would possibly rethink that.

Alright, that was a bit vague of me. I just don't know what I would do, 
as I don't know the area. Normally I'd say that you tag it according to 
what it appears to be if you'd find yourself in the area. So street 
level shops with apartments above would be retail, office areas with an 
occasional shop/restaurant would be commercial, etc.

I don't know which scheme would work for Bangkok. So ask around for some 
other opinions.
