One hint for the "drive through" part: If you want to do it good right 
from the start I recommend tracking while driving each street in both 
directions (where it's allowed of course). Than you can create the way 
in the interpolation between both tracks. I often find one GPS-track of 
a street to not give enough information for an exact street coverage.
