I can understand what you're saying, but think that it might be more 
constructive to say that it's not really suited to the newbies list 
because there have been lots of discussions elsewhere [waves vaguely at 
the talk list and the wiki], or is "difficult", or there are different 
valid approaches.

Any question asked here is valid; the only "wrong" question is the one 
that isn't asked.  Where discussion has happened or is happening 
elsewhere it makes perfect sense to refer to that, of course.
