[OSM-newbies] Splitting streets into one ways--too much?

In general, the answer to that is, "When your effort/reward ratio gets too
low."  The capacity for greater detail from people who know an area well
is one of the core strengths of OSM, but it's okay to have a threshold
where you say, "Okay, I don't want to spend the time putting in *that*
much detail."

Personally, I've settled on separating every road where it makes a
difference for routing, i.e. anywhere there's a road that intersects only
one of the separated ways.
