[OSM-newbies] Slippy map with route overlay?

Hi

Intro: I have very little knowledge of web page creation but willing to
learn.

There is a local interest website that I think would benefit from an OSM
slippy map.
I've worked out how to get a basic map with mapnik rendering from the
Export tab on the map website.

This site is for a proposed path on a disused rail track.
I would like to emphasis this route on the map. Is there a simple way to
do this?

The effect I'm looking for is similar tho Opencyclemap:
http://opencyclemap.org/?zoom=14&lat=51.45831&lon=-2.62084&layers=B000
But the overheads in time& cost seems to high.

I've also looked at this site:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3446712
but I'd like a simple window of a map without the side bar.

Is there solution to my problem?

Cheers
Dave F.
