I suppose the right answer is to file a bug on trac. This is the
newbies list, so let's talk about how to do that.
Trac is the bugtracking system used for many parts of OSM and is found
at http://trac.openstreetmap.org
You need to log in to use trac, with your API credentials. That is,
with the email address and password you use when editing.
The best practice when submitting a bug report is:
Confirm that you have a bug.
Update all the appropriate software and plugins. (Don't file bugs
against old versions)
Look for similar and identical bugs. Add your info to those if it is
likely the same bug and you can add info to help. "View Tickets" is
helpful here.
If new, write a good bug report. 1) what you did, 2) what you
expected, 3) what you observed instead, 4) how to duplicate it, 5)
list versions and setup (is this only a problem on IE6 on Win2K?)
Help fix the bug if you can.
Looking on trac I see two similar bugs. You might add your examples
as additional tests.
