Hi Xan,
there is no real standard way to do so.
You can use the tracktype=* according to the philosophy of it's creator (differs a lot from it's use in all editors).
This tag is really smart as long as circumstances are middle-european.
In Spain, the scheme may be inadequate.

The complexity:usecase=* scheme is no standard as well but may be closer to what you aim at.
Currently it is simply put a good idea to be consistent in what you do.
It doesn't matter so much how you do it. There will be need to get it fixed someday anyway.
Create a stylesheet of you own and make others in your surroundings tag accordingly.
There is no 'wrong', as there is no 'right' as well.
