[OSM-newbies] accessing time stamps from GPX traces in Potlatch?

Hi,

When using Potlatch to map a way from a GPX trace, is it possible to
access the time data for individual points or, better still, the
speed? When cycling for mapping, I stop along the way and photograph
points of interest to record features (water, information, benches)
for later tagging. My GPS unit does not have a function for recording
waypoints, so if there is tree cover, as on a shared-use bicycle path,
I can't always tell where to locate the POI by looking at the trace
and Yahoo imagery alone. If I could retrieve the times of the trace
points, I could look for gaps where I stopped to take the photos.
Speed, of course, would be better. I don't know if this is available
in JOSM, but even if it is, it would not be a good option, because I
have never been able to get the Yahoo images to display with enough
resolution (meaning, comparable to the way they display in Potlatch)
to make it reliable for mapping.
