I believe you can use the "Specialist Tools" from Cloudmade  - http://developers.cloudmade.com/projects/show/specialist-tools .   Check the restrictions page to be sure it will work for you.

I am new to OSM & map routing and would like to experiment with gpu based routing algorithms locally on my computer.  I have downloaded the USA data from the planet.osm file.  My main question is how do I convert a street address into a gps coordinate so that I can build my graph for a A* algorithm to travese.
