[OSM-newbies] Introduction

Hi all,

I am not exactly a newbie, having been involved with OSM since 2007. I
am subscribing to this list for two reasons.

First, I am always happy to answer questions from people new to OSM.

Second, I am currently starting a 'Welcome' working group that will
deal with the challenge of doing a better job welcoming new users to
the project. Because this group is still in its infancy, I would like
to use this list for the group's communications. Perhaps in a later
stage we will move on to a dedicated list, but for now this list would
be a good channel because our target audience is on here as well.

What do you think? Any objections?
