[OSM-newbies] POI Replace or keep

I did a building outline for an American football stadium that previously had only a POI node indicating its location. The POI was generated from the USGS GNIS database. The geographic location for the GNIS POI was way off (I found it in the middle of a swamp about 7.6 km east of the correct location). I originally moved the POI then I merged its tag data with the finished building outline. My question is do the generated GNIS tags have any real meaning in this case? Should I delete them. my inclination is to delete them but I thought I would ask.
