Henk has managed memberships until now but we're in the process of
handing this over to a small group (osmf-membership at openstreetmap.org -
among them Richard Weait, Jonathan Bennett, and Simon Poole) who will
(most likely) start handling signups and renewals with CiviCRM. A
CiviCRM instance is already in place but currently in dire need of some
design love I gather. I am hopeful that by the time you start signing up
people for SOTM US, the CiviCRM will already be in working order -
indeed your start of ticket sales might serve as a great motivator for
the team to get things done.
