[Osmf-talk] The role of face-to-face meetings in the future of the OSMF board

I heard that it became nowadays more difficult for NGOs
(non-governmental organizations) to raise funds. And that it also became
more difficult to work in the field.

Why not explore also other possibilities:

- more pronounced benefits for corporate membership (page with corporate
logos 1 click from the main OSM map, optional OSMF membership metallic
plaque);

- optional OSMF individual membership card and badge for 5 years
membership (membership fee x 5 + price of the card + shipping);

- optional page of honor for OSMF members, similar, but better than at
the jQuery foundation [1];

- training & certification. There is a Zend certified PHP engineer
training [2], why not an OSM certified GIS technician (engineer)?
Besides, if there would be a grant say to map Tanzania, it would be more
convincing to send there a team of properly OSM trained and certified
GIS technicians.
