I'm from Ireland, which uses a very similar STV system[1], and when
people talk about election results, they usually mention the following
things:

 * On which count was the person elected on. Hearing that 3 candidates
were elected on the first count, and the last on the 6th count tells me
that those first 3 are more of a 'clear favorite' than the other.

 * Transfers. When someone is eliminated (or elected), where do those
votes go? To which other candidates? This is more relevant when there
are many political parties. Often people who vote for Party A are likely
to put Party B as a further down vote. For this election, there aren't
really parties in that sense, but one could probably group candidates
into blocs, and see if/to what degree voters are "staying with the bloc"
by seeing if transfers stay with the bloc.

 * How much over the surplus was each person elected with. Again a
higher surplus (especially on first count) means they were more favorited.

 * Number (or percentage) of first preference votes. This is still
useful to know.

[1] I think it's almost identical, except the rules about how to
calculate the surpluses, and it's all done manually, so it can take a
few days to finish.
