A good question that you ask (although concerning a hypothetical situation I guess)...

I guess it will be hard to enforce a hard limit of say £50,000. What if you receive 2 donations of £25,000 from the same donor during an interval of two weeks (two months, two years)? Would we/you need to integrate (mathematically speaking) the money of each person over a certain amount of time? What if the money is sent from different accounts/persons?

Personally, I conclude that confidential donations should be possible without limitation (as long as the donation is not subject to any conditions).
