This is a bit difficult because the SotM group did a detailed budget in
EUR, while the OSMF books are in GBP, so there's a lot of fuzz depending
on when exactly an invoice is paid etc.

I have roughly:

£18.5k for flights
£1.5k for visa fees, postage, travel to/from embassy
£3.9k for hotel stay in Japan
£2.1k for travel in Japan
£0.5k per diem ("pocket money")
£1.5k admin assistant time (mostly help with visa stuff)

I believe that there were different classes of scholarship; not
everyone, for example, received a "per diem" payment. But that's about
the limit of my knowledge of the details.

It is perhaps worth noting that with the exception of the "per diem" and
a very small number of reimbursements, scholars did not have to to buy
any tickets and then send them in for reimbursement, but instead the
SotM team managed everything and the OSMF settled the invoice directly
with a travel agency in Japan or the conference hotel etc. - this
enabled the SotM team to get a much better deal on flight tickets than
if everyone had bought their tickets themselves. (Which would also have
been a treasurer nightmare.)

I can't say anything about the first two points, and the third point is
hopefully answered by the above.

Bye
Frederik
