AFAIK, the same is true in English. And my opinion is that the 
colloquial and causal "hating" of stuff is one of the most poisonous 
things happening in today's Internet and society. I have switched to 
using "strongly dislike" and similar expressions that are less strict 
because in fact what I think in such cases is actually not hate. Hate is 
distructive and attacking to a degree that causes wars and deaths.
