[Osmf-talk] Balancing the presence of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team at the OSM Foundation in 2017

To harp on Mikel points, Mikel, Kate were early OSMF people before HOT was
even created.
I have never seen any of them in my years of OSMF taking a position that
was favoring HOT directly or indirectly. Does that mean that they may be
favoring also the US chapter?
While I can see  why it might look bad, we have to be a bit measured on hot
or other osm offshoots. They are in there to improve the project.
More importantly, we should ask ourselves why no one else is really moving
forward with candidacy before saying that there are too many HOT candidates
in the first place. After all, they present themselves as they are highly
motivated.
