These are my personal memories as a participant of the meetup:

The FOSSGIS as a not-for-profit organisation has limits by law how much
money it is allowed to stockpile. We are currently close to the upper
limit, thus the meetup got in a discussion what options exist to spend
money on purposes both in compliance with the not-for-profit status and
beneficial to Open Source GIS software and/or OpenStreetMap.

No one came up with a ready-to-work idea, thus the FOSSGIS board has
been tasked to prepare ideas to the next year's AGM. Employing someone
is always a no-brainer how to quickly spend much money, but the lack of
any compelling job description at all has been the main issue and may be
a showstopper. In addition, the position shall exist for no longer than
two years to avoid to perpetuate the situation.

Best regards,
Roland
