? It seems weird, original post explicitly noted that posting on channels that are proprietary or
controlled by third parties is perfectly fine as long as open channel is available.
It is also not changing status quo.

Noone proposed such goal, noone is proposing to ban FB/Twitter/Slack/Reddit use.

Can you be more specific? I am unsure why you think that OSMF must do something,
and what you mean by "change the power on this list".

Especially as it is based on idea that there is a ban on use of some communication channels.

It is kind of hard to force people to communicate and to give feedback.

For example by increasing number of people allowed to post here (and specifically
targeting here active mappers). What just happened.

And I agree with Simon on linking to things in a visible way being a no-brainer. I also believe there were rumors of a plan to give more visibility to different OSM channels in the iD editor, particularly based on the current Map view--for example editing in Budapest you may get a link to OSM Magyarorszag/Hungary Facebook group, but also a link always to OSM Weekly, to the forum, and to any board-promoted diary entries or blog posts. But then have to consider this for Potlatch (2), JOSM, and more.
