Hi Heather,
I had retracted from participating on this list like Graeme (nicely put email, Graeme!) and I am sympathetic with many of the signatories’ ideas, I assume. However, I still haven’t read the actual call because it still is on Google instead of an open platform. If this call is for inclusiveness and opportunities for participation then we shouldn’t break with one of our core principles that made OSM what it is today. I do understand that not all communication has to happen on open platforms as OSM is now a very diverse world (and I do understand Celine‘s argument that the chosen platform was the most available to the group at the time of drafting), but now you made revisions and it seems to be a core document for an important discussion. Would you mind putting it somewhere accessible, please?
Thank you,
Tim

Frederik and I are very different, but I can tell you that I truly appreciate his passion and contribution to OSM, even if we have different views and versions. I have also been on the receiving end of the onslaught of notes. I really have more empathy and do want to focus on the topics at hand.

This behaviour degrades the spirit of open community culture, and damages the OpenStreetMap reputation. The catalyst for statement was the offensive message sent to the OSM-talk list [footnote iwth piper link], but the systemic behaviours described span many years and many people." and that way we can focus on the main goal of this statement.
