That is just an artefact of google-like job titles meeting reality. Both
current volunteers, while we casually refer to them as "sys admins"
actually fit the SRE description nicely with lots of the focus of their
work on automation and reducing the "sysadmin" work. But wrt end user
support the reality is that it's a small shop and there are simply no
"other" people that are going to be providing  it, for practical and
legal (data protection) reasons.
