[Osmf-talk] Agenda for F2F (was: The Board Face2Face is now Screen2Screen.)

Hi, Christoph.  I think there will be minutes of some sort.  How
extensive, I don't know.  I'm new at this so don't know what past
practice has been.  At a minimum I expect we will publish outcomes of
discussions.

I think we are using Zoom so we can see each other.  Mumble doesn't have
video.  We're calling it a "screen-to-screen" meeting rather than
"face-to-face".  It is a poor substitute to meeting in person but under
the circumstances is the best we can do.

I think since Allen Gunn, our facilitator, spoke individually to each
board member in advance of preparing the agenda, all board members have
a strong sense of what the agenda is about.  If anyone has questions,
there will be time to clarify in short, declarative sentences once we
are all on line.  As for the non-native speakers of English, I only wish
my /schlechtes Deutsch/ were half or even a quarter as good as Tobias',
Guillaume's, and Joost's English.  I'm not terribly worried about their
ability to comprehend even complex and highly culture-dependent English
language formulations.  They are brilliant linguists in their own right,
and I'm not talking about Python or Java.

I respect your desire for a report on the success of the process, but
must warn you that the meeting is not being held for the sake of
process, but rather for the sake of having fulsome conversations about
the future of the project, and what the Board needs to be thinking about
proactively, rather than only reactively.  I'll try to give you a
readout on how the "screen-to-screen" mode worked, but please don't
expect that to be my focus.  My focus, and I suspect the focus of other
Board members, will be less on process than on the substantive issues
facing the OSM project.

cheers, und mfG, und bitte bleib gesund,
apm
