[Osmf-talk] Idea for improved mapping system

Hi all,
I don't think the main OSM site should be shy to link to other services.
Regarding the badges, taking some info from HDYC and show it on the main
user page seems like a good idea to me.
It could start with just the mapper type "Hit-and-run mapper", "Casual
Mapper", "Crazy Mapper", ... and give those badges.
But other info can also be turned into interesting reward graphics. Like
the rank in your country (though it's hard to beat imports, perhaps that's
not something that should be actively encouraged), or for quality mapping:
the number of Osmose issues vs number of touched nodes/ways. Also the
github-style calender of HDYC is interesting. It's nice to see a mostly
green year. Not everything needs to have a hard numerical boundary.
But (and this is going a bit off topic), also other services could be
linked to get more exposure and ultimately increase map quality. Like
having a visible link to open the current view in uMap, that would perhaps
steer away users who just want to put their own (personal) markers on the
map. Or showing a configurable Osmose issues layer to have integrated QA.
Kind regards,
Sander
