Hello OSMF members,
To follow up from my email of 11th October 2020¹, here's a more detailed
draft of a change to OSMF's fee schedule to allow people from the OSMF
Active Contributor Programme to choose regular/full membership, rather
than currently where they get only associate membership.
Old version:
> The membership fee for associate membership, which normally is tied
to the regular membership fee, may be waived if the person applying for
membership can demonstrate that they have consistently made sizeable
contributions to OpenStreetMap, for example by mapping.
The OSMF Membership Working Group will, together with the Board of
Directors, define what counts as “sizeable contributions”.
Just like paid membership, membership under the membership fee waiver
programme must be renewed annually.
New version:
> The membership fee for regular or associate membership may be waived
if the person applying for membership can demonstrate that they have
consistently made sizeable contributions to OpenStreetMap, for example
by mapping.
The OSMF Membership Working Group will, together with the Board of
Directors, define what counts as “sizeable contributions”.
The applicant chooses between regular membership or associate membership
when applying.
Membership under the membership fee waiver programme must be renewed
annually.
Combined diff:
> The membership fee for ++regular or++ associate membership ~~, which
normally is tied to the regular membership fee,~~ may be waived if the
person applying for membership can demonstrate that they have
consistently made sizeable contributions to OpenStreetMap, for example
by mapping.
The OSMF Membership Working Group will, together with the Board of
Directors, define what counts as “sizeable contributions”.
++The applicant chooses between regular membership or associate
membership when applying.++
~~Just like paid membership,~~ ~~m~~++M++embership under the membership
fee waiver programme must be renewed annually.
This is currently just an idea. This may, or may not, be the final text.
The board might not even propose this. Please provide feedback.
