Responding to Mikel...

We use about 90 servers worldwide. I guesstimate they use at minimum 400
MWh annually, producing roughly 180 tons of CO2 if all the power is
fossil based.   Compare that to flying Berlin to Paris and back, which
is about 100kg of carbon dioxide per passenger.  The same journey by
train would use about 20kg.

Relocating our servers to Norway (73% green electricity), Iceland (72%)
or Sweden (54%) would be great. Unfortunately we use a lot of donated
servers and rack space, and it is globally distributed, so relocating
everything to beautiful Oslo doesn't make sense.  Sigh....

If we do pass a Carbon Reduction resolution it should state that we will
locate servers on a greener power grid, whenever it is practical, and
that we will book our travel on the greenest transport that is practical.
