kinda :) I'm still a little confused on use here.

First, I think the all the conceptual and philosophical ideas are laudatory. But for better or worse, @openstreetmap twitter has 74.5K followers, and I don't see them migrating soon to the fedeverse. So most of the interaction wremains on Twitter. In other words my focus is trying to assess and balance the value of using Mastadon vs usability with as a means to posting where the followers are active.

So to cross post between Mastadon and Twitter...

.. we'd need to configure things on another somewhat random service to do so? In other words, to send a tweet now requires reliance and configuration on 3 services instead of 1?

So if something originates on Mastadon, I know it won't look identical .. but will it look off somehow on Twitter?

I think that's a problem for managing access. Even with you as the admin, it's not a good way of organizing posting access. For posting to Twitter, we're currently using GroupTweet, and seems to work ok.

I guess my conclusion is that it makes sense to syndicate from Twitter to osm.town, and that's happening already as I understand. But setting up in the other direction has drawbacks at this time. Of course it's up to the whole CWG to assess this.
