In case that someone will miss joke:
ODbL requires that user will be made aware about source of data.
Attribution text in the corner is a typical one, but other are also allowed,
as long as it is efficient at making users aware of the data source and
license
And no, hiding attribution and requiring to tap an i icon
to see is not sufficient to achieve this.
But I would expect that if something is
OpenStreetMap data editor and it displays data for editing
then it is clear that this is OpenStreetMap data.
In case of displaying background generated from OSM data
or users being likely to be not understanding situation - then
attribution text may be required.
And that is one of reasons why StreetComplete is displaying one.
