Both JOSM and Vespucci have the ability to load OSM format data from any 
source, so no way this is "clear".

Thanks for the plug. All three editors I mentioned display attribution 
for background layers, just as SC does, that's not the point.

People were just applauding a "no exceptions" statement and the 1st 
thing that happens is people starting making exceptions (because that's 
what happens IRL).
