We can make a survey with a free form text box. But then what? Who's going to read through (& translate) the responses? Who's going to analyse exactly what people mean, and categorize it? Are you?
Unfortunately, free form text box can easily be a charade of “asking for feedback”. We could collect the responses and keep them in a spreadsheet, and then never look at them and never analyze them. I think it's better to not pretend.
Have you considered running for the OSMF Board? 😉
