Given the threat model, why aren't we looking at something along the lines
of conflict of interest?
Having a simple "you need to have at least X edits over Y days" rules out
casual mappers but opens the flood gates for, say, Amazon, Apple, or
GlobalLogic (again) to attempt a hostile takeover. As someone who might
potentially some day be affected by such a rule (as I'd absolutely take a
job that allowed me to work on OSM fulltime and keep my current standard of
living), I feel like "you cannot be a member of the foundation if
contributing to OSM is conditional to your employment" is a better starting
place.
