oh yes, definitely it is a complex topic and you should check which legal situation applies locally. On the other hand, there are several global endeavours like google’s and apple’s streetview, mapillary, wikimedia commons etc., which demonstrate that it is not legally impossible in general to take photos of private properties and publish them (and they all try to avoid showing people or number plates, which are a different issue). (I guess some of the holes in their coverage are not only there because of lesser economic incentive but also for legal reasons).
