I would (vote against him). I don’t particularly like that guy — he rubs me the wrong way — however rich (OK) or smart (maybe) he might be. Money isn’t everything.
Back to the matter at hand: dedicated people who have a real heart for OSM, as well as some time to give, are who are truly needed here and now. Please consider serving our community in this unique way. It is very likely you will learn a lot by doing so, you will almost doubtless sharpen your leadership skills during your tenure, you will be appreciated by the rest of us for having stepped up and you will have a serious accomplishment to put on future resumes (if that matters, and to many, it does). I’ll say it like this: we are all volunteers in OSM, but those who self-nominate (and not necessarily win election) to our Board are super-volunteers. Thank you in advance for your consideration to “put your name in the hat.”

Perhaps if you had spoken warmly about your experience on the board and how it was meaningful to you, and the impact that you felt that you had, it might encourage someone on the fence to put their name in. Really what this sounds like is "If someone signs up to be a candidate that I don't like, I would like a brief pause in the nomination process so I can find a candidate that I do like in order to oppose them."
