[Photon] Photon setup/architecture question

Hi,

 

I am planning to setup a Photon search with 2 different endpoints. I will
use getkong.org to manage those endpoints to enforce different daily rate
limits.

 

My question is if there are any best practises regarding recommended
architecture for such a usecase? I am not sure if the best approach is to 

 

1) run 2 different photon instances which share the same index
(photoninstance1.com/api?... and photoninstance2.com/api?...) 

 

or 

 

2) if it would be better to just run 1 photon instance and use e.g.
transparent proxies(?) pointing to one instance (e.g.
photoninstance1.com/free/api?... & photoninstance1.com/pro/api?...)

 

Any hints on how to approach that usecase would really be appreciated, also
hints for related questions that should also be considered regarding future
operation of the service & which might not be obvious...
