[Potlatch-dev] GPX time elements

Hi all, as I mentioned in an earlier email I am trying to import some long GPS tracks many covering more than a hundred miles at a time. I've already gone over them with my own app and removed all the extra points from when I've set up camp, or just put my pack down for a while and some of these missing points cover a time of more than 3 minutes, so Potlatch cuts them into separate ways. Since there are lot of these gaps in my files and manually merging them take a while I am hoping someone can suggest a good solution that doesn't involve me writing a script to change the time stamps to me one second apart. I tried removing all the time elements and then Potlatch complained that the GPX was not valid.
Actually I'm not really sure why Potlatch wants to know the time of the points in the GPX, surely location is important and time is irrelevant when creating a way.
Ideas welcome,
Craig
