[Potlatch-dev] On GPX tracks in P2

Hi!

I have been trying to seriously map with P2 based on GPX tracks from my GPS.

First problem is getting the track into P2 at all. We've discussed the
problem that Flash cannot access the track across domains a while ago. I
have overcome this by uploading the track to the same server first, but I
still need to copy the URL into P2 manually. A JS function to add it to P2
would be great (I believe it is already on the todo list) would be great, it
should also be able to center P2 on the gpx track and assign a style.

Next problem is making the GPX track visible. I managed to do this with a
workaround: I created a seperate style that only contains a rule for items
that are not drawn and assign that to the track. Is there a way to directly
reference a GPX track with a rule like all other items?

And eventually, the Vector background seems to ignore Waypoints in the the
GPX - at least I was unable to make them visible. When mapping, I enter
notes in the form of named waypoints - if I cannot see them in the editor,
that style of mapping becomes impossible. Is there a way to make named GPX
waypoints visible in P2?

bye
