The fixed sidebar width sometimes comes up as a frustration among mappers who get involved in long changeset discussions. On the other hand, I guess that can be an extra incentive to take a long back-and-forth conversation to a direct message or the forum.

An inline tag editor would also motivate users to resize the sidebar: https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/6758#discussion_r2743934490.
