I don't really understand what you mean to be honest - it would be easier to comment with a concrete example.

In principle we're certainly open to improving how we interface with the routers, but I wouldn't be keen on having a lot of rules encoded on our end so that the routing decisions wind up being made by us rather than the router.

As I understand that ticket what you're proposing is that we would send a parameter when doing pedestrian routing telling Valhalla just to ignore all access restrictions? That doesn't seem wise either from the point of view of where the decision is being made or just from the point of view of generating valid routes...
