I was mindful of that when considering the approach to take. Clearly adding an "OGF mode" setting and then using that for various things in the code is a non-starter, therefore used a feature-based approach. It's then useful for OGF, and other such non-OSM uses, along with test instances where you might not want the traces?
User Diaries is the other area I thinking about the best approach. On OGF they're no-longer used and we've got an automated bot/script hiding non-admin diary posts automatically. Similar to this PR, there could be an off option? And that might ultimately make sense down the line fo OSM too, if the plan is to migrate to community?
