[Routing] Android app send route request to server

Hi there,

I'm a newcomer to routing based on OSM.
I'm now want to do a project that:
1. Android app send route request to server
2. server figure out the path and send it back to the android app

Why techniques do I need to use for good performance?
I see many tools from here
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Routing#Mobile_Devices
which one is better?  My project finally will be deployed on the cloud.
